Better Places 2030 builds on the United Nations Sustainable Developpement Goals. With our CSR strategy, we contribute directly to 10 out of 17 of theses goals, with a strong focus on the "Sustainable cities and communities" objective. The external recognitions that we received for our relentless efforts make us proud.

ESG RATINGS

CDP Climate Change A List

CDP is an international non-profit that drives companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield scored a place on the Climate Change A List by CDP*.

* The Westfield acquisition was finalised after CDP’s assessment. This assessment covers the Continental European perimeter only. For their 2018 results, Westfield scored A- in the CDP Climate Change List.

The FTSE4Good Index Series is a set of market capitalization-weighted indexes to measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate social responsibility standards. The June 2018 Index Review confirmed Unibail-Rodamco as a member of the Series.

Ethibel Sustainability Index (Excellence since 2011, Pioneer since 2013)

The Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) contains companies that display the best performance in terms of corporate social responsibility. In March 2018, Unibail-Rodamco was confirmed as a constituent of both the ESI Excellence Europe and the ESI Excellence Global. In May 2018, Unibail-Rodamco was also reconfirmed for inclusion in the Ethibel PIONEER and Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register.

ECPI is a leading rating and index company dedicated to ESG Research (Environmental, Social and Governance). In 2017, Unibail-Rodamco was confirmed for inclusion in the following ECPI® indices: ECPI Ethical EMU Equity, ECPI Global Eco Real Estate and Building Equity, ECPI Global Eco Real Estate & Building Liquid, ECPI World ESG Equity, ECPI Euro ESG Equity, ECPI Global Ethical Equity, ECPI EMU Ethical Equity, ECPI Euro Ethical Equity, and ECPI European Top 10 ECO Real Estate Equity.

Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB)

GRESB is the global environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmark for real estate assets.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield was ranked Sector Leader by GRESB in the Retail/Global/Listed category* among all listed retail companies worldwide. We were also ranked number one among all European listed companies, and all European retail companies, with a score of 93/100!

*The Westfield acquisition was finalised after GRESB’s assessment. Only Unibail-Rodamco’s performance was taken into account.

ISS-Oekom

ISS-Oekom is one of the world’s leading rating agencies. In June 2018, for its first ESG rating by ISS-Oekom as Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, the Group was rated B- , the highest rating level achieved among the real estate companies assessed in the world. Furthermore, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield received again the Prime status, awarded to only 8% of the real estate companies as of June 2018.

Sustainalytics is a global leader in sustainability research and analysis, serving investors and financial institutions around the world. In June 2018, the Group reached first place in the whole real estate industry ranking (out of 316).

Vigeo

Viego is a European expert in the assessment of companies and organizations with regard to their practices and performance on environmental, social and governance issues. Unibail-Rodamco ranked first among the Financial Services - Real Estate Sector of Vigeo Eiris 2017 ESG rating. In June 2018, the Group was also confirmed in the Euronext Vigeo indexes: World 120, Eurozone 120, Europe 120 and France 20.
