Polygone Riviera goes “Supernature” this summer

#Group News

Inspire, amaze, create new experiences and bring people together is what we do at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. At Polygone Riviera, France’s largest open air shopping centre and a preferred destination for shopping, leisure, services and entertainment, we offer our visitors a unique encounter with contemporary art.

Following sculptures by Joan Miro (2016), Philippe Ramette’s gravity – and logic – defying works (2017), and Lilian Bourgeat “augmented” objects, the Franco-Argentinian artist Pablo Reinoso is taking over Polygone Riviera’s art programme with an exceptional set of ten sculptures.

Walking around the streets and squares of Polygone Riviera from June 19 to October 14, visitors will experience this unique exhibition – entitled “Supernature” – which expands on the idea of an exponential nature invading the urban space. Pablo Reinoso’s works of art encourages us to reconsider the public bench as a meeting place for discussions and exchanges, spurring poetic reflection on the role of art within the collective space.

A true cultural hub, Polygone Riviera is also home to a permanent contemporary art collection: ten unique pieces dispersed across the centre for visitors to discover and enjoy. The international selection of artists exhibited at Polygone Riviera* reflects the plurality of contemporary art practices. Guest artists are familiar with the perception of art in the public space, taking into consideration natural features and the surrounding landscape. Polygone Riviera’s art pieces thus contribute to embedding these new living spaces into the social and cultural environment.

By putting art at the heart of its positioning since it opened in 2015, Polygone Riviera created a unique concept, providing an innovative space and a new impetus for cultural discovery accessible to all.

Polygone Riviera’s art programming testifies to the Group’s ambition to create exceptional destinations, and to keep reinventing the shopping experience to offer unique moments of awe, delight and togetherness to our customers and retailers.
