Hamburg development prepares for opening with 90% of space pre-let

URW’s major urban regeneration project Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is set to open this year. Transforming a central part of HafenCity in Hamburg, the new development will blend shops, hotels, restaurants, leisure areas, offices, homes and a cruise ship terminal, connecting places to live and work with a stunning entertainment offer and innovative retail concepts.

With two months to go until the grand opening, the letting rate for shops, dining and leisure areas has already reached almost 90%, a staggering sign of the enthusiasm with which brands, retailers and restaurants have greeted the project.

Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier will feature flagship stores from H&M, Intersport, Zara, Mango C&A and Adidas, plus boutiques from Scotch & Soda, Pull & Bear, Rituals, Karl Lagerfeld, Sephora, and many more. Dining options range from local brewpub The Baby Goat, to Hamburg’s favourite burger bar Bear Claw, Korean fried chicken masters Chingu, Asian vegan from Chay, plus sophisticated bars and lounges inside the destination’s three hotels. Rhubarb Hospitality Collection (RHC), an international flagship partner, has also signed on as an anchor tenant for the fine dining cluster.



The development also showcases our vision of creating sustainable places that Reinvent Being Together. The mixed-use development will play an active part in Hamburg’s sustainable transformation, connecting future-oriented models for urban living with the historically developed the city’s identity.

In line with our sustainability strategy, Better Places, the destination has been designed and built using sustainable materials and processes, and will foster new modes of sustainable mobility, including e-vehicle platforms, smart shuttles and the implementation of intelligent logistics and traffic control systems. All buildings are certified according to the international BREEAM Excellent Standard, and the office buildings according to the DGNB Gold Standard.
