Les Ateliers Gaîté’s makeover reveal this fall

#Group News
After closing for renovations in 2017, Les Ateliers Gaîté in the Montparnasse district, the second largest business district in Paris, will open its doors to the public this fall to reveal its new offer!

With a sustainable and inviting architectural style, the shopping destination is part of a mixed restructuring project housing lifestyle brands, an integrated social housing, creche, office building as well as a redesigned hotel and municipal library on a surface area of 28,800 square metres and will serve as URW’s showcase for new urban consumption patterns.

Designed by the MVRDV architectural firm, Les Ateliers Gaîté has six separate entrances and a minimalist layout consisting of concrete floors, uncluttered ceilings and a few colourful touches, including Copper, to make it stand out to passers-by.

In the shops, the emphasis is on great customer experience, with each store being invited to host events, DIY workshops or services related to the products. Popular French brands such as Truffaut, Nature & Découvertes, Mr. Bricolage, Go Sport, Bo Concept, PoltroneSofà and Darty will be present in the shopping centre, as well as the second Leclerc shop in Paris proper. With some fashion shops present, namely Naf Naf, Okaïdi, Courir and Claire's, the second-hand fashion sector is also well represented with the opening of a Kiloshop store , and a shop by the vintage clothing platform CrushOn, founded in 2018, and already present at Westfield Les 4 Temps in La Défense in the Paris region.

Les Ateliers Gaîté, which is spread over three floors bathed in natural light, is also home to the largest food court in Europe, with 15 restaurants spread across 4,000 square metres, and offers a vast range of leisure activities on the underground level. The John Reed fitness centre and the Time Tripper games and escape game complex of over 1,000 square metres are also thriving at the mall.

In terms of sustainable innovations, the site is home to a waste sorting area, in partnership with Tri-O, which will employ two agents to optimise future recycling, as well as a more sustainable urban logistics circuit, managed by Urby.

Differentiating ourselves from commercial spaces in the neighbourhood and staying true to our purpose to Reinvent Being Together, our aim was to create a vibrant destination with exciting experience where people truly want to spend time in and connect!

Don’t miss out to visit Les Ateliers Gaîté this Fall!
